Hide & seek with He tangata

The leaves lay still as I curl up small,
They cover my face like a mask.
I hear the teachers yell 99..100
Be silent. Don't move. Don't even breath.
When will we be found? My heart starts pounding.
The footsteps come closer, and closer, she’s prowling around, I hear “Found you.”
But I can not see her.  I realise, she’s talking to the people next to us.
I fall straight, out of the bush, and get found of course.

  1. Funny. Who found you? You must have given her a fright falling out of the bush.
